If you're here, I'm glad. You can call me Esther. I'm a Software Engineer and UI Developer with 7+ years of experience building digital products across fintech, e-commerce, and personal projects. My work started frontend-heavy, but over time, I've grown into building more complete products, combining engineering, interface design, and product thinking to create experiences that are both functional and intuitive.

I specialise in building modern web and mobile applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and React Native. I enjoy turning ideas and designs into responsive, accessible interfaces, building reusable components, and making sure the details of the user experience are just as considered as the underlying code.

Beyond the frontend, I'm expanding my backend engineering skills with Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL. I'm interested in how applications work as complete systems, from API design and data management to authentication, application logic, and the integration between frontend and backend services.

I'm also developing my cloud engineering skills, working with tools such as AWS, Vercel, and Railway to deploy and maintain applications. I enjoy understanding what happens beyond writing code: how products are shipped, how services communicate, and how to build applications that are reliable and maintainable.

I've worked on products in fintech and e-commerce, including my experience at Polaris Bank and Ledger. These experiences have helped me understand the importance of building secure, scalable, and user-focused applications while collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams.

I'm also a Project Management MSc graduate, and that background shapes how I approach software development. I care about understanding requirements, breaking down complex problems, planning delivery, and taking ownership of work from an initial idea through to implementation and release.

Outside of my own projects, I volunteer with CodeYourFuture, supporting people who are learning to code through mentoring, code reviews, and feedback. I enjoy sharing what I know, helping others build confidence, and contributing to a community where people can grow together.

Ultimately, I enjoy building products that solve real problems. Whether I'm developing a web application, working on a mobile experience, or exploring a new technology, I care about the intersection of engineering, usability, and thoughtful design.
